Wait, how do you work this thing?

As I have been sitting here the past few days contemplating all the pictures I would like to take and post in this blog one thing has become abundantly clear. I don't know how to use my camera! I became slightly obsessed a while back and decided I just had to have the Cannon Rebel T1i, because , you know, I had plans! I was going to learn to take spectacular pictures of the things that inspire me in life. Dance, dolls, you name it I was going to take pictures of it. Instead I became very busy with other things and promptly lost my owners manual. Who cares I have no idea what an f-stop actually does? I'd get it at some point.

That never happened . I just wound up documenting my daily life on Facebook with my iPhone. I'm thinking it's time to go take that beginning photography class about now. I have so much I want to show you. Better late than never!

Starting Out

It occurred to me that maybe I should start some type of web thingy for my dolls. Since I'm not ready for a full blown website at the moment I thought this should do for the moment.

These days I'm really feeling like I would like to spend more time dedicated to crafting and creating dolls. Although I'm heading out on vacation for two weeks and won't be able to start anything now, hopefully I will come back with lots of inspiration!

Part of my trip is to Arizona to visit my Grandmother and my Aunts. In honor of that pictured here is a doll I made for my Aunt Margaret a while back. My Aunt is a dog breeder so I went looking for fabric with that in mind. I found an adorable print that consisted of a black background covered with white and coppery orange dog bones. That became her body and the beginning of the color scheme. From there to the end result just kind of flows together. This one came together rather easily.
