Moved

Hi everyone! I have just started setting up over at http://nightsvision.com ! I'm really excited about having my own webspace. So I plan on keeping my blog over there from now on. I really hope you will follow me over there to keep up with what's going on with myself and Night's Vision. I think I will still post here occasionally. I hope to have a giveaway set up there soon. For now here is my latest blog post http://www.nightsvision.com/blog/pumpkin-poppets . I'm super excited about these poppets. They are so cute!

SpiritWorks Legacy Jewelry

I have no excuses for why I can't seem to keep my blog updated regularly! The only thing I can say is that I still don't spend a lot of time sitting at my computer because it makes my back sore pretty quickly, and I still have not gotten the hang of typing large amounts on a touchscreen!

I have been having ups and downs with my moods and my energy levels ever since I rejoined the world. It may seem crazy to some but the only contact I have with most people, outside of my direct family, is through the Internet. I am waiting for a time when I find the right outlet to start spending time with people again, but I haven't so far. How does an introvert make friends at 37? It's beyond me at the moment.

I've been super busy with my Etsy shop Night's Vision this past week an a half. I finally decided to start carrying some of my late Aunt's handmade jewelry. This is what I add to all the listings of her jewelry "SpiritWorks Legacy Jewelry was designed and made by my late Aunt, artist Marti Gregoire who passed suddenly from a stroke on December 21st of 2011. Making jewelry was her passion and here at Night's Vision we believe her legacy should live on. " If you have a chance go check out this new section SpiritWorks Legacy Jewelry at Night's Vision . There are so many more wonderful pieces to list, but I need to get back to my work for a while! Here are a few pictures of SpiritWorks Legacy items. There are about eleven more in the shop!

Neglect

I can't believe I have been so neglectful of my blog for so long! In my defense I've been super busy or super exhausted from all the busy. Of course my busy is not half as busy as some people , but I just have a limited amount of energy to work with sometimes.

Our house is back to a livable state now that our kitchen is pretty much finished. I say pretty much because we still do not have the pullouts installed in the pantry. There are also other little touch ups that need to be done. All in all though I am so happy with the new space! I've done more cooking in the past few weeks than I've probably done in my whole life! I have been pretty content just to be domestic for a while.

Branches

What a huge time of transformation my family is going through. We lost another amazing woman this morning. My Great Aunt Hannah passed away in Vegas after fighting lung issues for years. The thing is those lung issues never seemed to stop her from being the strong, confident woman that she always was. She always knew exactly what she wanted and how to take charge and get it. My mother posseses a lot of these qualities also, it's perhaps why most of my life I've looked at her like she was a super hero! These are the type of women that some people have words for, titles for, complaints about, because they have the audacity not to be afraid to be who they are and to not allow the world to step on them because they are mere women. My mother taught me how to move my own furniture, how to use my own tools how not to wait around for someone else to do it for me. She also taught me that sometimes you just lead with your heart and your gut. I think this is the kind of woman Hannah was also. I didn't get to know her my whole life, but she will certainly have left a huge imprint on it.

Ooops!

I can't believe how long it's been since I made a blog post! Things have been incredibly busy in my little world, and unfortunately it's kept me from keeping up with things like this. In February I spend a few weeks in Arizona with my mother and Cyd. We went to help my Aunt and Uncle with the clearing out process from both my Aunt and Grandmother's deaths. Not only is that kind of work physically exhausting but more so I believe it takes a deep emotional toll. By the end I was rather numb, and it wasn't even the end.

My Aunt was a very talented jewelry maker and polymer clay artist. I wound up bringing most of her studio back with me. So, I had to go about figuring out how to fit it all into my world. That included a complete overhaul of my "studio" which has also always been the guest bedroom. With all the changes i made it is now much more a studio than a bedroom. We replaced the queen bed with a futon that I think will be very comfy for my Mom when she comes to visit. I don't know about you, but it's super important to me that the place I work in is inspiring to me, so not only does it have to be functional but it has to look good too!

Here are just a few pictures of what I wound up with.

Believe it or not I have actually gotten some work done here as well! More on that soon....

Birthday Wishes and ACEO's

First of all I wanted to send out a little request :) My birthday is this Saturday. I actually almost forgot about it, so I don't really have any plans. What would really make my day would be to get Night's Vision's *Likes* on my facebook page up over 200. If you could do this for me, or share it around that would be awesome! http://facebook.com/nightsvision   There is also a little like button over there on the right sidebar.
ACEO's have been the theme of the new year around these parts! I love the small format and the fact that I can actually get something finished without sitting so long my back starts to get silly! I listed a few of them on Etsy this week. Check them out.

I have several more that haven't been listed yet. Maybe when I get back from my trip to Arizona next week. You can see most of them here.

I hope everyone has had a great first month of the new year!

They fill the void, and I like it.

I am having so much fun making Treasuries on Etsy these days, though I must say I would prefer to have room to be working on my own stuff. In the meantime these certainly feel like works of art in their own right at times. Here are a few recent ones I curated for you to puruse. I hope you enjoy them! Comments and sharing are always appreciated.

Hannya Inside by Tina Lynn Ellis, or Art Dolls are my first love

I haven't gotten much done lately, but I just did one small thing that makes me feel totally accomplished! I took pictures of my doll Hannya Inside. I had just put the finishing touches on her when my disc herniation started pressing on the nerve way back in August. So all these months I've just been staring at her. I have not been strong enough to hold the camera or to bend over in any crazy ways to get the pictures. I did it today. I am not sure if or when I am going to be listing her on Etsy , but if you have any questions you can email me at nightsvision at aol dot com. I'm not sure if these are THE pictures yet, but I am happy how they came out for now. I'll stop babbling now and show them to you. There are more on the Night's Vision facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/nightsvision .
